ABOUT
In 2009, West Virginia organized a multidisciplinary advisory group to develop a Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI) Plan for the state. In accordance with objectives 3.1 and 3.2 of the HAI plan (HAI Plan 2012), West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources Bureau for Public Health requested that all acute care hospitals pledge ongoing resources for implementation of Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) and Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) guidelines for CLABSI prevention.
