Training for Physicians/Primary Care Providers
  • Training for Physicians/Primary Care Providers The West Virginia Hepatitis Academic Mentorship Program WVHAMP, supported by the West Virginia Rural Health Association, provides free education, tele-mentoring and continuing education credits designed for primary care providers to link with disease experts as required by West Virginia Medicaid. WVHAMP is designed to build a mentorship platform that is accessible to primary care providers caring for high-risk individuals throughout West Virginia, so individuals with chronic hepatitis C can be cared for and cured in their own communities. (WVHAMP)
  • Project ECHO® (Extensions for Community Healthcare Outcomes) Project ECHO, West Virginia Clinical & Translational Science Institute, is led by expert teams who use multi-point video conferencing to conduct virtual clinics with community providers. Their goal is to assist primary care doctors, nurses, and other clinicians in learning to provide specialty care to patients in their own communities. The West Virginia Clinical & Translational Science Institute (WVCTSI) Project ECHO Hepatitis C Program enables rural physicians to present de-identified hepatitis C cases to a panel of experts including infectious disease, gastroenterology, and behavioral medicine physicians from West Virginia University and receive mentoring in the management of such chronic conditions.
