SCHOOL IMMUNIZATION COVERAGE RATES
Each year, the Division of Immunization Services sends the school enterer's survey to all schools in West Virginia, both public and private.
Data is collected on the total number of Kindergarten and 7th grade students enrolled, total surveyed, total records and total medical exemptions. Also collected is the total number of students who are up-to-date for the following required vaccines: DTaP, IPV, MMR, Hep B, Varicella (or history of disease). In addition to the previous vaccines, the 7th grade data also includes Tdap, HPV and Meningococcal.
Once the data is collected, it is submitted to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Services (CDC) for the yearly required reporting.
The Division of Immunization Services would like to thank each and every school nurse, principal, secretary, teacher and any other school staff who assist in completing this yearly survey. Your hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated.
